Getting Students’ Bodies and Ideas into Libraries « Impromptu Librarian

Today I was perusing the internet and ran across the blog Impromptu Librarian.  I was actually looking for a story about how to engage students in the process of creating a library media or video blogging center.  The article, “Getting Students’ Bodies and Ideas into Libraries” made an indirect connection.

Students were encouraged to blog about their school library and create displays.  What they found was that their book suggestions were noticed and added to the collection.  Those students must have felt empowered.  Adults actually listened to what they want!

This is how every library should function.
